i like to make tea with lemon/ginger/honey and a little cinnamon

grate fresh ginger & squezze half lemon & pour on hot water with honey and cinamon to taste and let it steep then drink

i'd keep to smooth foods like soups, mash etc rather than anything that could aggravate your throat
Curry would aggravate it!
good foods:
Yoghurt with honey (manuka if possible but unpasteurized at least)
milk puddings
warm thin soup like consomme
not a food but this is god - juice of one lemon, large teaspoon of honey shot of whiskey or Cognac and a little warm water.
^Good' not 'God' lol!
It doesn't matter what you eat.
If you fancy a curry.....then have a curry.
Paracetamol.
So the Capsicum in curry would not aggravate a sore throat?
Ummmm since when has paracetamol been a food lol!
Soup!
Retro.....I have no idea, but it may even ease the pain, acting as a "counter irritant."
A favourite home remedy all my life has been a boiled onion (whole) till meltingly tender, then chopped up with a little butter , slides down a treat and very soothing.

Of course it does help if you like onions.
Mamylynne -that has brought back a very vague memory of my Grannie giving me soft buttery onions when I had a cold , I loved them.
Me too.
Blackcurrant and honey tea. Speaks for itself, Blackcurrant jam, spoonful of honey, hot water and sip. Cure of my childhood, still stick with it. Curry's would imo aggravate it. Alchohol, dribbled slowly down throat, also helps.
Knob of butter rolled in sugar
Don't tell the food police
