Power of Attorney

Hi, Does anyone know if power of attorney still stands even when the person that you have been acting on behalf of passes away?

Sorry if this sounds a little muddled. I'm a little unsure as to how this should be worded.

Power of attorney ceases to be valid from the moment that the person dies.

All responsibilities for the affairs of the deceased are then taken on by the executors of the estate appointed by a will.

Obviously the executors may also be the holders of the power of attorney but not necessarily so.

I agree with the above answer- I have just had it confirmed by a lawyer that the power stops when the person passes away.
