In the news is a story about a man building a castle with out planning permission .Now what I would like to know and indeed see is planning permissions for other castle built .Will that be okay ?

I think it's more about location than the fact it was a castle. If his land wasn't green belt he may have got planning permission.
There have been few applications to build castles, in recent years......including this particular case.
Wish I had enough money to build a castle.

It's not really a castle (compare it with Windsor or Warwick and you'll see what I mean), it's just a larger than average house. There's no Castle Application Form that I know of.

Last Castle to be built in england is usually taken to be Castle Drogo in Devon - worth a visit designed by Lutyens

possing off Planning officers in the local office is a seriously bad thing to do - for your house and wealth that is
they can basically make you tear something down just for the hell of it
