Wednesday. An 'ooligan took up a lot of the night, stuff grew wings and flew all over the place. The recycling bin went walkies and the contents found their way all over the garden. A lot calmer and tidied up now. I can see one star, but not for long methinks!

Got to go to Wotton-under-Edge today, it's a lovely, bustling little Cotswold town.

bye Fraser..haste ye back ! xx
wendi..first job of a morning was to haul huge blocks of cheddar from the chill room and cut off the thick layer of mould which encased it ! people don't realise how long the stuff lies around before sale..ox tongue was another..yeuch..came as a big rolled up tongue in aspic which had to be sliced..when it didn't look like a tongue not too bad..but that prep room was like a scene from a jungle task first thing !!
yes mm can well believe that after seeing the mouldy strawberries . No health and safety rules lol .
and we were also told to lay out bacon rashers fat in overlapping as 4oz servings on paper...to disguise how much fat was in the weight..all tricky cynical sales tactics.....what they did not know was that any old folk who asked for 2oz or 4oz of cheese got at least half a pound for the same price !! and I would by accident break the crust on a nice steak pie and sell it at 25% cost !! no wonder they went out of business...well fed old folk in Edinburgh though ! lol
Looks like they still do that in the pre packed bacon .
yes ..common practice I think...
