Anyone suggest answer to problems of a very husky voice, no soreness or cold. Very embarassing and annoying. Has been like it for quite a few months.

Thyroid check?
Hi Lilma, it could be acid reflux. II suffer with it and alalways trying to clear my throat. Certain foods make it worse. See doctor for acid reducing drugs like meprazole which helps.
Before Sqad accuses me of alarmist posts, I'll stress that what I'm going to mention is only one of several things that your GP would consider, so it's probably nothing serious.

However a hoarse voice (with or without other symptoms) can sometimes be an early indicator of laryngeal cancer.

So, please DON'T panic but please DO consult your GP, just to be on the safe side.
I also don't want to scare you, but spring of 2014 my wife's voice became husky. She also had no pain, or cough. In November, I finally persuaded her to see a doctor, and she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Unfortunately, having waited so long, it had already metastasised, and so was inoperable.
See your GP as suggested above.

Do you smoke? What is your occupation? Do you have any earache or difficulty in swallowing? Do you have a cough?

All relevant information that will be needed for your consultation.

Malignant disease is not the commonest cause by far, but needs excluding.
