On Homes under the hammer this morning there was a father and daughter property buying team. The father's name was Hassan so it's likely they were followers of the Islamic faith.
The daughter, Becky, wore a low cut top.
Do different areas of the Islamic world have different ideas about what is 'modest attire'?

I think any adherents to any faith work out their own interpretations of what their faith requires of them.

This can range, in terms of the Muslim faith - from, for instance, a man not cutting his beard, but shaving his top lip in adherence to the image of the profit, to a man shaving off his beard entirely, which is seen as a sin by devout followers.

For Christians - some Catholics attend Mass every day, others don't attend at all except for funerals and Christenings.

So I think it depends on now much or how little anyone wants to adopt the tenets of their individual religion.

Perhaps they follow no faith. A 'Muslim' friend of mine tells me that when she was born her father decided she was Muslim. Once grown, she decided differently.

My work Colleague has an asian name and looks asian .

Yet , he only speaks english and neither him or his family dress in asian attire or adhere to any asian traditions / religions

Although his ancestry is obviously asian , his immediate family is from one of the caribbean islands .

There are Muslim men who drink, gamble and lead a 'playboy' lifestyle.

Arab Christians can also be called Hassan, it is not just a Muslim name.

Look at pictures of Islamic countries in the 60/70's. Girls in mini skirts, etc. This extreme version of Islam, on the whole, is a recent aberration.
