How Can I Set Up My Smart Phone 4G?
10 Answers
I got a smart mobile - not had one before, I can text, talk on it, use camera and radio, but that is it.
How do I access WiFi
What is a data bundle?
Do I need a computer's router to set it all up? or a computer some place?
Where do you get Apps from?
It is a Samsung A3 and I have watched hours of vid on You Tube and have no idea. On probing no one I know actually knew how theirs worked either and could not help! The staff in the EE shop refused point blank to help.

Did you buy it from EE ? That sounds very strange. You should report your discontent with the service to their Service Line.
I'm no expert but my understanding is as follws:
I think if your service provider has 4G then the phone should connect and use it when it needs to. A data bundle would be an additional purchase you can opt to make to give you more data comms for a lower price. You should be able to find the WiFi connection from the menus on the phone, turn it off and on. Most of the time you will need the password for the router you are trying to connect to. Yes the router (yours or an open to the public one) acts as the WiFi point you are trying to connect to. Apps for android will mainly come from the Google play store and I'd expect that access app to already be on your mobile.

How do I access wi fi?
If you have a wireless router in your home you can connect to that using the broadcast name and password.
Some shops and hotels and pubs also have wi fi. If you want to use their wi fi you have to find out the logon and password from them. Each locations will have a different logon and password
There is an option to turn wi fi on and off on your phone so make sure it is turned on.

What is a data bundle?
There are two ways to download data on your phone.
One is via wi fi and the other is using the internet via the phone (called Mobile Data).
If you use wi fi then it is free to download data and use the internet and youtube and so on.
But if you use the internet on your phone (Mobile Data) then this will cost you money.
Most companies offer a "data bundle" where you can download so much data as part of the monthly cost. This may be to download 1 Gigabyte of data per month, or 2 Gigabyte of data per month and so on.
If you download more than your allotted amount it will cost you EXTRA MONEY.
You need to check with EE what your data bundle per month is.
If you have already watched hours of YouTube you MAY have already gone over your monthly allowance so you need to check with EE.
It is ALWAYS best to access the internet via wi fi rather than Mobile Data as this is free.
Note you can turn Mobile Data on and off on your phone, as well as turning wi fi on and off on your phone if you want to.

>>Do I need a computer's router to set it all up? or a computer some place?
You don't HAVE to have a router or computer to use your phone.
You can do everything via mobile data (though see comment above about data bundle).
However having a router at home so you can use wi fi will be free on your phone, though you do of course have to pay for the broadband and router so that is an extra cost.
If you visit someones house then you can logon to THEIR router to use wi fi but they need to give you their logon and password.
If wi fi is available then always try to use that rather than mobile data as it is free.
