Pricking Feeling In Eye

For some time the wife has had a pricking sensation in the eye. I have tried to get her to go to an eye specialist but she refuses. If anyone has any info I might be able to persuade her, at least see someone, we are in our seventies

Could be something or nothing much , however only someone with the right equipment to look can tell her.

Say , Mamya says she has to get it looked at. ;-)

Tell her to go to any of the big chains, like Specsavers. If they see anything
wrong, they will either send a letter to her GP.,or to the Eye Clinic at hospital.
That's what happened to my husband a few years ago.

Get it examined ASAP it could be lots of things, possiby high pressure in the eye which could lead to glaucoma.

Sounds like mine. I have drops prescribed for dry eyes. Not serious but can be pretty uncomfortable.

Thank you everyone for your input, I have shown her your replies and she has finally agreed to go to the opticians,will post the outcome later, thanks again

I'm pleased she's changed her mind but wonder if this is more about a fear of finding out than just not being bothered to go! I only say this as AB always gives good advice about going to doctors etc but some people are really scared, me included and that's why I pretty much never post my medical worries on here because I know I should go and don't want to be told in black and white. Good luck to your wife, I'm sure all will be fine.

Thanks Prudie, I have got the response from the wife I wanted, she will get it checked out now

At your age, a check up is free at any optician - so popping into Specsavers, Vision Express, Boots, etc should be easy for her.
