I am having trouble printing 2 A4 sheets, (from my bank) the paper just slides thro fast and comes out blank of course. Then it tells me I am out of paper grrrr.I have tried the HP 'help' to no avail. It seems to be set up ok so it must be something I am missing. It is fairly, new maybe 6months, and not often used (as you can imagine!) Hope someone can help please.

If your browser allows you to view pdf documents in a browser window (rather then by opening another program, such as Adobe Reader) then going to File>Print (or pressing Ctrl and P together) is likely to produce only blank pages. (It's a problem that's been reported here several times).
So, if you're trying to print a bank statement, in pdf format, displayed within a browser window, that's likely to be the cause of the problem.
The solution is NOT to use the normal 'Print' option but to look for a 'Print' button WITHIN the actual window itself. It might look something like this

or it could only appear when you hover your mouse over an area at the top or bottom of your screen.

I am going to get myself in a bit of a muddle here I'm afraid. I go to my bank, look at the statement then press 'print', it starts the process, the printer starts up then spits the blank paper out. I have also tried to use 'File then Print' but the same thing happens. I go to Hp devices and the statement is in the queue, so I delete it and start all over again. It is doing my head in, I see there is something in related questions which is a very similar problem.I have always done it that way with my old HP 1500 (I think it was) and have done it a few times with this one but not for a couple of months, I have had to go into the bank to ask for a statement which is an almighty nuisance- sorry for moaning :0(
Assuming that your printer is still producing Word documents, photographs, etc, then the problem clearly lies with the program which you're using to view your bank statement, rather than with your printer itself. (Either the program itself is at fault or, as I suggested above, you're simply using the wrong 'Print' button).
Assuming that you're viewing your statement within a browser window, look for a 'Save' option WITHIN that Window. (i.e. Do NOT go to File>Save or Press Ctrl and S together). Save the file to somewhere convenient on your hard drive (e.g. 'My Documents'). Go the file's location and double-click on it to open it in your PDF viewer (such as Adobe Reader or whatever, far better, alternative you've got on your computer). Then print it from there.

When I open a pdf document in Firefox, the top right-hand corner of my screen looks like this:

The printer icon is the second one along on the bottom row.

Oh dear still nothing happening. I did as you suggested Chris, my docs etc, Adobe said 'cannot open due to a problem in protected mode, system disabled. The readers which came up were Microsoft Xcel,Microsoft money, Intuit Quicken QIF Adobe XLS, Text file PDF and something like Middi? I haven't used any of these so did'nt know which others to try.
I then went on to Print and scan doctor on HP, it found some problems which it fixed, so I tried to do it all again with microsoft xcel but the whole caboodle just froze!!!! I did manage to print an email on my BT mail page this am so I have ink at least! I did find the printer icon and tried that, it started to print as I thought, made a noise anyway but the page came out blank except for two large squares in very faint ink. I don't think it is the printer it must be something I have set wrongly. Do you think I should uninstall the printer and start again please? Hope you can make sense of all this as I am losing the will to live.........
