Android Tablet Screen Problem

Having some problems with Android tablet screen.
it's a 10.1 inch model running Lollipop 5.1
At the top of the screen about 1 inch or so of it along width of screen , it is not responsive at all, any icons in that area clicked on will not work and also cannot pull down the notification bar.

Looking back I think there may be a possibility this prob was caused by a game which I previously installed, this game asked for screen calibration and did that by pressing on four points which appeared at the edge of the screen, but this never worked properly so I think this may possibly be the original cause.

I have looked in settings for screen calibration options but cannot find one, so kind of stumped what to do next, any ideas?

when I said previously installed, meant was installed then deleted later

If you rotate the tablet, does the dodgy bit rotate as well (software issue) or does it remain at the same physical place on the tablet eg. if dodgy bit is at 12 o'clock, when you rotate the tablet 12 o'clock is now 6 o'clock (hardware issue)

On Android, it depends on the version of the OS and the device. Typically, you would find a calibration option in Settings > Display but if none is apparent, there are several apps you might try, such as TouchScreen Tune (requires root) that can be used to resolve many touchscreen issues.

No when I rotate then I can access the icons not accessible in the 1inch problem area and the notification bar as well, so it seems problem is just down one side of screen

As a last resort if I reset tablet to factory settings would this solve the prob??

although of course would prefer try to avoid that
