I thought it was superb, especially the Mother Superior's singing.

I recognise the actor who played Von Trapp, as being the actor who played DCS Christopher Foyle's RAF son in Foyle's War.

But what has the actress who played Maria been in before?

I enjoyed it, the songs were out of sync with the film, which i love, but it was fun, still singing raindrops this morning

Kara Tointon and Katherine Kelly who were both in The Sound of Music are also both in Mr Selfridge. Kara plays his daughter and Katherine plays Lady Mae.

Haven't seen it from the beginning yet as I was out yesterday evening.
But it weren't bad.
Not as gorgeous as Christopher Plummer in my opinion, though... ;-)

I'm no particular fan of musicals, but did appreciate the production values of ITV's version and the sheer amount of hard work (both in front of, and behind the cameras) needed to screen two and a half hours of this live version.
Why people are comparing it with a fifty-five year-old film is beyond me.
Interestingly, the film was widely criticised on release...for not being true to the original stage version.
