Mince Pies...yes Or No
16 Answers
Now that it's all over...mostly...
I'm wondering...do you love or loath them?
I ask because we get bucket-loads of them donated...and everyone seems to hate the damn things! I don't think we could pay anyone to eat them.
Can they be fed to the birds??

However, I'm not keen on shop bought ones because the pastry is usually too thick and the mincemeat too sweet. Although I buy mincemeat, but I make my own pastry and bake mince pies. So far I've made five dozen and we have about a dozen of them left. I should say that most of them have been given to visitors ha ha - even I don't like them enough to eat 48 all on my own!
Our freezers at stuffed with excess turkeys...and there's also the numerous Christmas puddings which will get served up over the coming months. At least into the summer. Because we've been getting a lot of publicity this year, people have been exceptionally generous.
Great to know birds love them...I'll spread the word. Thank for that :-)
