Saw A Monster Cockroach Last Night!! With Wings, Luckily It Wasn´t Flying

yuk, there i was sitting in my local haunt in madrid, when my girlfriend spotted this thing, must´ve been about 4inches long, and could it shift? we both felt sick from the experience. i was told about them a few years ago, and thought it was an exaggeration, it wasn´t!! now the question is, are these things european or did it come from the tropics?

I like cockroaches!

A bit of googling suggests that the largest ones come from South America or Australia, so it's likely hat it wasn't a native species that you saw. However there are about 4600 named species of cockroach, and probably the same number again that have yet to be named, so you'd really have to be an expert to identify it precisely.

I was having a bath in an hotel in Corfu, reading my book, minding my own business, when a large cockroach popped up out of the overflow (which was basically just a hole). I have never moved so fast in all my life - a tidal wave ensued!
