in the vauxhall ad with the 2 little boys do they say at the end 'oh they're tired' or 'overtired' about the parents when they drop something? just trying to settle a bet.

Its 'oh they're tired' because they're mimicking what there mum and dad would say to them. You wouldn't say 'over tired' would you it doesn't make sense! (Sorry to the person who thinks its that!)

Yes, the word is "Overtired." But they're saying it in an accent, so it sounds like "Ouvretired." Don't know what accent it is exactly, but it's Northern. (Manchester? Leicestershire?)

In the longer version of the ad, when the parents drop the plates the kid says "they've had a long day"

Which leads to them say "Overtired"

The general consensus now is that it's "overtired". I must admit this surprised me for two reasons - firstly, as just one word it doesn't make as much sense as "oh, they're tired", secondly they do seem to hold that first syllable for a while, which you would be more likely to do if saying "oh, they're tired" (accent or not, most people wouldn't say "ohhhvertired").

I'm not saying the "overtired" camp is wrong, just looking at it logically.

I see what you're saying, but the way they're saying it points to overtired rather than oh they're tired. They're saying it as though it's an excuse, rather than sympathetic which it would be for oh they're tired.
