Fridge/freezer Contents.

I've recently bought a chest freezer which doesn't really have much in it at the moment. I have a massive food shop being delivered tomorrow and much of it will end up in the freezer.

How do you keep a log of what's in yours?

Do I need to buy a load of post it notes?

No...I have a pantry which is just off the kitchen. I think I'll go with the bags idea.

I just chuck everything in and rummage through it to find something to cook.
bhg481 'Really' A printed laminated list with names and dates that you cross off as you use an item!!!. I bet you have individual serial numbers printed on every pair of knickers with a record of the date they were bought and last worn ;-)

Eddie...problem is lots of what is in the freezer will need defrosting. That means forward thinking and that's where I fail.

I have been good though and have written out meal plans.

That is how it works in a pro kitchen as well but there we call it 'prep'

I might be lazy and hide things in cupboards but I do cook....from scratch.

Freezer sacks one for meat,one for veg, one for pies and pastry products, another for non group food x

I have a notebook with a magnetic back and it's stuck on the front of the freezer. I have a list of everything that's in the freezer and cross items off when I use them. If only the rest of my life was as well organised as my freezer (sigh)
