However, when it comes to working out which Company is going to have my hard earned cash I become very untrusting. Not only do I check using comparison sites, but go a bit further on checking direct with the companies.
Over the years it's worked well and I've only made one mistake, fortunately not lost out financially, but appalling customer service.

I like a lot, I would / had donated to charities that is until they had the cheek & said that they would send a standing order for me to increase my Donation, ( They are telling me what to donate) I did donate Hanz, I told them to Izz Off, so who is the loser? I think it's becoming that the UK needs donations, as we have no money left because we keep sending it abroad.

Only some of the Age UK and Age Concern merged. Some remain independent of the merged charity.
I have a friend who worked in the South West region for Age UK marketing and selling products.
I contacted her on behalf of my parents for holiday insurance and they were 3 times more expensive than other providers.
When a charity becomes too big they have to maintain revenue and the easiest way to do that is to set up a business arm. Once that happens everything changes.

@hc4361...It was also discussed on Radio 4 this morning and there appeared to be No denial from EON that it was in league with Age UK and was paying to push its electricity and gas supplies.
Anyway, that apart, I have just received my 'snail mail, and have been offered by Age UK a chance to take out a plan for my Funeral Expenses.
Furthermore,if I take appropriate action before the 31st of March i will recieve a discount of £30. and get a free pen.
Guess you know how I am reacting.
