I always smile at Princess Ann's popularisation of the word 'Naff' to mean , not very good or needing improvement. She obviously was totally unaware of the origin of the word. It was originally used by the 'Gay' community in the days when homosexuality was still unacceptable. If a man was 'Naff' it meant he was straight and therefore >> Not, Available, For, F **king ! EDDIE -I once had to explain to a very polite Canadian women what was the meaning of *** (sugar with a b). She was happily going around using it as a term of endearment and almost fainted when I told her lol!

Also a friend of mine, in her 80's insists on using the word twit with an 'A' and thinks its the posh version. She had me in stitches when she referred to the new Vicar as a bit of a public shcool boy ***'
