I have terrible problems sleeping and can go 3 nights in a row without a single minutes sleep..does anyone have any advice or tips

So because it doesnt apply in your case, you think that no one is affected by these things despite the research?
I have always slept really well but lately I was struggling to sleep during the night, so I stopped drinking coffee and switched to camomile tea, I now sleep like a log again from the moment my head touches the pillow.

Ratter15 @ 0939; i'm pleased that you have found a cure for your 'insomnia' though i suggest that you merely went through a phase where you found sleep difficult. As i said, i have been insomniac for most of my adult life and have tried everything, to no avail. And i was an insomniac long before mobile phones and computers came along. And, in those days, i drank very little coffee. Perhaps these devices do hinder sleep, but my insomnia is no worse in 2016 than it was in 1976. Our brains are all wired differently and some of us can drop off at the mere sight of a comfy bed - my ex-wife could sleep for England. However, those of us who suffer greatly from insomnia either have to rely on drugs of one kind or another or adapt and just 'put up with it'. Again as i said earlier, i often read until my eyes are all but closed and if i get 4 hours or so, i count myself fortunate.

Sorry the Biovea link didn't work for you mm as I trust them and have seen others recommend them on here. I'd be interested to know who on Amazon you placed your order with if you can get them cheaper as I need to order some more myself. I see Boots have them but only with a prescription but you get them without a prescription outside of UK.
They don't work for everyone of course, my daughter will have one now and again and they work for her but not for my son. Anyway hope they work for you and do let us know.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with this, although it might explain 04:30 appearances on GMEB threads!
The best advice, I've encountered, is to break the mental association between being in bed and unable to sleep. Use the bedroom for sleep (and pleasure!) only. All TV, books, laptop/mobile activity is to be banned. If you cannot sleep, get out of bed, put on something warm, go downstairs and do some activity until you feel tired enough to drop off as soon as you lie down.
Meanwhile, in daytime, increase the distances you walk and exercise in general (under GP advisement!), since this will help tire you out.
My problem isn't insomnia, per se, but it does start with that inability to switch off. I can be up to 6am but, then, I'm sleeping in the daytime, leading to up to a fortnight "out of phase" with the real world, awake at nighttime, unable to get to shops, attend GP appointments, exercise, do chores etc. I don't have a name for this yet.

Thanks mm but yours work out dearer and I get 60 more, for less. If i'm looking at the correct one, you get 120 for £11 + £11 postage and I get 180 for £21.05 inc postage. Oh well, I hope they do the job for you.
