Watched a quiz show which featured about twenty adults - three had no idea who Tommy Cooper was.

What has made you feel old lately?

I am always jolted when I find a grown up's date of birth is in the 1990s. That was only yesterday - they should be babies
1) Entering my date of birth to log into a website on my phone and spending 5 minutes having to tab back week by week back to a date in the 1950s.

2) Going to a job interview in a school and finding the interview panel was a group of 11 year olds

My daughter will be 24 this month.
When on a website you have to scroll back to your year of birth.
I felt old today when one of the other residents asked if I was Dad's wife.

Mind you, she is very confused......even so...it still hurt. :-(
I'm still in touch with a few of the pupils that I used to teach. I felt old recently when one of them told me that her younger brother (whom I still think of as 'little Gary') is now a grandfather!
One of my former pupils died recently at the age of 43. My younger brother died two years ago at the age of 60 and his eldest son, my nephew, died last year at the age of 39. I can't understand why I'm still here.

You must have had a good and healthy life, Jack.
The trouble is, Tilly, that I haven't. I have never enjoyed good health, and have abused my body so much over the years with alcohol and nicotine that I ought to have died at the age of 40. Yet, nearly 30 years on, I'm still here.
