I am really enjoying Peter Capaldi and the stories....got to say there hasn’t been a Doctor I didn’t like.....Was sorry Christopher Ecclestone didn’t stay around longer.
Chris Ecclestone, David Tennant (especially with Catherine Tate), Tom baker, Colin Baker, Peter Davison and Jon Pertwee, in descending order.
My favourite episode is also Blink, where we first meet the Weeping Angels, but hats off too to Fires of Pompeii, where Donna reminds the doctor that if he wants humans to want him, he has to remember what humanity is.
When I taught in a boarding school I used to watch it with the boys. It was their highlight of the weekend. The Dr. at the time was Jon Pertwee, who, I thought, was very good. I also remember an intermittently recurring character called Brigadier Lethbridge-Stuart.
Not really. I think the character has more to do with the storylines and how the actor is told to portray the Doctor. In The Family Of Blood David portrayed a ruthless character who seemed content the wreck vengeance on the aliens as they were punished for their actions, that in my opinion was quite out of (the basic) character of the doctor as presented throughout all incarnations.
