They asked me during my quote for my new car if i had a camera fitted.
i replied "no"
at the end I said" silly me I do have one" and they knocked 10% off instantly
Went straight to shop and bought one.Result
When I renewed in February I asked about discount for a camera and was told "No" by LV=.
I was under the impression that a dash cam helps sort out blame in the event of a claim rather than lowering the risk and therefore the premium.
I have just been sent my insurance renewal details and it is to cost me £500 for my next year's insurance premium for my two cats. I know that you lot are talking about cars but I don't have one. It might be cheaper if I trade them in for a car.

£250 for a cat!
I was paying £28 a month for my dog 'Labrador' but I decided that was too expensive. So I decided to just pay up as necessary, he has only needed one lot of treatment in 5 years and that cost £85 which the vet let me pay in 2 lots of £43 a month. I will never pay for pet insurance again just 'pay as I go'. The vet says they will always let people pay by installments so pet insurance is an expensive waste of money IMO !
I agree, the only time I wanted to claim for pet insurance, they wouldn't pay.out because they had the date wrong. I only have insurance now that you legally have to.
The cost has been creeping up over the years and Frankie has had an ongoing claim in since 2009 when he was diagnosed with asthma. They will be 11 this year and that increases the cost.

I couldn't believe that it was now higher than my house insurance.

>>my dog 'Labrador' - reassure me that you haven't named your Lab Labrador. ☺

pixie, I don't really begrudge the insurance premiums as it is peace of mind. It suits me and the way that I budget. Like most things there is no right answer. What's right for one person will not be for another.

No he is a very large black Labrador called 'Ozzie' his full kennel name is 'Ozzie Prince of Darkness' after Ozzie Osborn !
Fair enough. I've saved more paying as I go-but it's a gamble either way...
'Ozzie Prince of Darkness' - brilliant name for a vacuum cleaner. Lovely breed of dog. ☺
pixie - in years to come I could be kicking myself at all the money wasted.
It's impossible to tell, wolfie. That's why it's a gamble...xx
