If duets are included then I tend to agree with the gooner. Ebony & Ivory was a UK number 1 and written entirely by Paul McCartney. That would seem to be the most obvious choice for your competition.

His highest-placed individual single in the UK that wasn't written (or co-written) by him was 'Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday' which was a UK number 2 in 1969 and written by Ron Miller and Brian Wells.
