Chrome Problem

Chrome is my preferred browser, but I have been having page loading problems recently.

It particularly happens on advert heavy sites like this or the Mail on line, and seldom occurs on BBC News. Pausing Adblock doesn't seem to have an effect.

When loading a page the little whirly thing goes round and round, and I cannot scroll up and down even though most content is displayed.

Eventually a warning of non responsiveness appears.

I have tried Firefox and it doesn't happen there, though I would prefer to keep using Chrome.

I guess some component needs updating or reinstalling, but I need help identifying what needs doing.
Any suggestions please?

Graphics card, drivers?
I have just tried 'clear browsing history from the beginning of time'. Things seem to have speeded up.
For Bathsheba sound issue try deleting your adobe flash player and updating to the latest version from the adobe site. Maybe update your audio drivers to.
geed was meant to be good. Went all Scottish there.
Ooh Thanks Tilly, that reminds me, I haven't done that for ages.
Incidentally, how the heck can those of you without" that which cannot be mentioned" bear it?

Aaargh, just seized up again.Back to Firefox.
Every pc and lappie has a graphics card and a set of drivers eddie. They do develop updated and faster graphics cards (or even chips in smaller devices) these devices handle all your pc graphics requirements aided by the Central Processing Unit. When you disable the hardware acceleration you are transferring all the "work" to your graphics card and its drivers.
I think this is a problem for Chrome to sort out.

Although pausing Adblock doesn't stop the problem,I am wondering if the Adblock software is still causing the troubles.

After all if Chrome had a fault, I can't imagine that Google wouldn't have hit the problem quickly.

Does anyone here with the problem have no Adblock software loaded please?
From my point of view this a fairly recent problem so I don't think it has anything to do with the 'unmentionable'
In addition to that, I do not have a problem on Firefox.
if it is a google chrome problem, wish they'd hurry up and sort it out.

After 3 x page unresponsives, instead of reload box showing on right hand side of screen, a box with different words shows up (can't remember what it says off-hand) which is supposed to report the problem to Google.

Would appear that they are ignoring anyone clicking on that box

Well I have now uninstalled Adblock, but it is no better.

I am sure it is in some way related to the adverts, as gov and BBC websites seem to run fine.

When it is hanging, a little box in the bottom left corner says 'processing request'. That box normally flashes up the various tasks it is performing, so it looks like it is arriving at a task and not being able to do it.

I'll just have to go back to using Firefox, though that annoys me the number of times it stops for updates.

Chrome has become unusable to me, so I have switched back to Firefox as my default browser.
don't know whether it's coincidence but after yesterday's win 10 and chrome updates my chrome seems to be working quicker
Sorry can't help but it's odd if it's a Chrome problem because mine is working perfectly.
Could it be a problem between service provider(e.g.Virgin) and Google?
...so is mine.

I suspect it is some additional programme required to display some adverts not being up to date, but how to find out which one I don't know.
