Some of the colonial yokels are even more uncouther than what I am. They refer to the holiday as "May two four", referring to a popular size of beer case that holds 24 bottles.

I'm on holiday and don't get back till next Thursday, OH has taken Friday off and has Monday of as bank holiday...3 weeks with me, lucky man! :-)
