Here is the compelling reason for you Brexiters to change your mind and those of you sitting on the fence , to jump off into the remain camp .

Dave says your yearly 14 days stay on the beach in Torremolinos will cost you more , outside of the EU

You`d have to pay me to go to Torremolinos - there are much nicer places.
Having seen this

there is no-chance we'll be going anywhere near Spain for quite sometime.
andy-hughes, how do you feel about the contention, on AB, that the EU will wreak vengeance on Britain if we diecide to stay, or that the EU is a tyranny comparable to Hitler or Stalin? I find all that pretty ludicrous, and I'm amazed that anyone should suggest - as you just have - that fear-mongering is one-sided.
I don't now how much information one can get or cope with. What else they might be looking for.

Folk will know how it is to be in the EU, and how they effectively take over the country's law making, and reduce democracy and accountability, whilst an elite decides the direction we go in. They will understand how they have the opportunity to make that part of the past while the country reclaims control once more, and not have to follow general rules that simply don't suit al countries at the same time. And on the other hand in support of the other position there are fears that there may or may not be a blip as upheaval occurs and things settle down again, and stories of how things might be costlier without any real evidence why that should be so.

What more does one really need ? Do folk feel scared about their country looking out for its own interests and wish to feel secure and told what to do ? Or do they prefer their country to stand up for itself and arrange/agree what is best for their nation ?

One doesn't get to elect EU presidents, just for their underlings who get to vote on the subjects passed to them; however one does get to elect the House of Commons (and maybe one day will realise they need to elect the upper house too) who are accountable to the voters every four years.
Baldric, isn't that story a bit old?
If a two week holiday price hike ensues if we remain then it could be offset by leaving the EU but Dave is too stupid or reluctant to mention that isn't he?
The EU was the corrupt mobsters who imposed Green taxes on world-wide flights to Europe. The EU put prices up in the first place.

If you take an inference from my post, there is nothing I can do about it - but it does not mean that your conclusiuon is correct - as indeed it is not.

I think the scare-mongering is being carried out by both sides, but the government side is getting increasingly hysterical and inventive in its doom-mongering.

Is this because they have something to lose - i.e. their jobs, if they lose the votes, as opposed to a number of the Exit campaigners who are not beholden to Europe, and have no career axe to grind?
Ironic that Obama was sticking his nose in the Brexit campaign and trying to persuade how good the EU was good for us (him) and it was the US government and others who want to take the EU to the European Court of Justice over the Green Taxes imposed on them. Hypocrite and Nimby.
((Baldric, isn't that story a bit old?))
jno, it is less than a year old, you would have to be extremely naive to think the threat does not still exist.
I think the scare-mongering is being carried out by both sides

ah, your earlier post didn't say that. But the post about EU revenge went up here only yesterday, which is why I'm suggesting Brexiteers are getting hysterical (though I must admit they've been sounding fairly excitable for years). But have you ever raised an eyebrow when people babble on about the EUSSR?
//as opposed to a number of the Exit campaigners who are not beholden to Europe, and have no career axe to grind?//

So Mr Farage's care and concern for his country actually means more to him than his career as a MEP. When pointed out his career would end if we left his comment was, "Bring it on"
He has more sincerity and integrity in his little finger than Cameron ,Osborne et al
The USSR is a reasonable comparison. The republics were in theory independent but were ruled from Moscow, just as we are ruled from Brussels.
Wow imagine the fantastic surge in tourism to the UK when the pound plummets, and it is cheaper here than the rest of the EUSSR. This time next year Rodney. If that doesn't happen perhaps there will be less opportunity for illegal immigrants to smuggle themselves in when our then underworked immigration officials have more time to check documentation etc.

and only a page back, youngmafbog was saying how the pound was going to go up so holidays abroad would be cheaper!

All you bright AB economists should get together sometime.
jno - //But have you ever raised an eyebrow when people babble on about the EUSSR? //

No - because it's people who get their buzz-labels from the media.

They say things like 'Brexit', and 'Glasto' and 'Samcam' - so no, I don't take any notice of their witterings at all.
//and only a page back, youngmafbog was saying how the pound was going to go up so holidays abroad would be cheaper! //

Errr was it not Camoron who says the pound will plummet(despite all other factors saying it won't), notice how some love to take things literally. Usually I would venture the ones who like to obfuscate of course. Tongue in cheek goes right over the heads of some. Why do they bother trying to prove themselves all knowing and "smart" with reactive and mainly peevish responses? To eager methinks. ABC?
When WW3 breaks out, as Dodgy Dave has predicted, who would want to holiday in Europe anyway!
jno, I wrote //If the pound gained against the Euro, not exactly difficult to do then it would cost less. //

So reading not your strong point either or did you just conveniently miss the 'if' ?
