In a time of an increasing threat of terrorism, we are told to be vigilant.
Can you honestly say that in a travel situation be it by bus, train or aeroplane, would you scrutinise more, someone who was of Muslim appearance and carrying a bag, rather than a fellow passenger who was white or black and dressed in western type clothes?

SP, //Surely THECORBYLOON is comparing one set of terrorists with another set of terrorists?//
He is comparing a set of terrorists patriotic to Ireland and with a specific political agenda relevant to that country to a set of terrorists patriotic to … where?
Terrorism committed In the name of Islam knows no patriotism and it knows no boundaries. That is the difference and that is what people who compare one to the other consistently fail to comprehend.

/// So the question *was* actually yet another one aimed at Muslims, rather than about the 'Quest for Diversity' as which is was so cunningly disguised? ///
You are wrong yet again, this was about the quest for diversity where a person who happened to be a Muslim was consequently taken from the diversity numbers by committing a crime.
He could have quite happily have been a female or a black or a Sikh or anyone who wasn't White and Male, and thus being added to the diversity figures, but in this case he happened to be a male Muslim.

I take public transport every day.
I live in London which has a large Muslim population, many of whom take public transport.
It has never once occurred to me to scrutinise anyone...ever.
If someone were acting suspiciously I would probably try to remember them for descriptive purposes...but when I travel, I'm usually emailing, reading a book on my phone and listening to music on headphones.
I don't really pay attention to other travellers.
