just had knock on door and a wee party from local council with tidings...
..apparently I have won a best garden in local comp..did not even know I was in it !! neighbour nominated me and judges came round last week some time..thank goodness I had done my potting up , planting and cut grass...never mind my knicks on the birly !!! neighbour often lets herself in to show folks so not sure when it all took place..but well pleased..humble humble thanks..takes bow...

thank you Herr Hans ! lol... much appreciated..not been an easy few years and since losing dad has been very difficult...but life goes on and I can only give thanks for what I have had..been very lucky with such wonderful parents..only hope I can carry on that example...xx

I assumed it was a rotary washing line. May be wrong but it fits with the rest of the sentence.

Exactly.... a Whirly-gig clothes line you stick in ground and it turns.
