Cats Are Just So Angelic

I saw this the other day but couldn't find it on Facebook. Cats are misunderstood. They are affectionate and loyal to their family and kind and considerate to other cats in the household.

Merlin did the same thing - they were at the top of my stairs and I saw her leg go around his behind. Then she pushed him. They are not too fond of each other and it can be a bit of a battle ground.

Frankie often goes up to Merlin in the morning and gives her a kiss on the nose. She turns and wellies him with an armed paw. Such loving siblings!

Before I had my two Yorkies, I had cats for over 20 years. At one time I had 3, although the concerted bullying ( of me ! ) became too much, and my Mum took one of them on.

I found them to be unerringly affectionate and they made wonderful pets.

My last cat and Willy overlapped by 6 months and I realised that when you have a human, a dog, and a cat in the house, there is no doubt about who is Boss....the cat every time !

I hadn't seen that one before. It may be safe to say that he loves his Catnip. I got up one morning to find that the Catnip had been liberated from a cupboard. I looked for suspects. Frankie (an asthmatic) was a bit wheezy, he assured me that it wasn't caused by the catnip plastered all over his face and bits of his ears. He had just stuck his face into the catnip. He ever had some in an ear. I now how have a more secure container.

I've seen that programme before. Some bits I felt that the cat was being goaded/baited into a fierce reaction. Was there not some guy in the US whose mother's cat hated him ~ so he kept picking it up. Sometimes it is the noise that the cats make that is the really scary bit.

I get bullied a little - usually food related. I have siblings and I was assured that they would grow old together, cuddling up for sleeps and playing together. Nope that is not what has happened and they will be eleven on the 29th of June.

I remember Baldric saying something about his cat being in total control of the two little doggies. The cat would walk into a room and the dogs would move off the bed/sofa/chair - without a word.

I once bought a live catmint plant.

Our Sophie destroyed it by rolling in it endlessly.

I have heard a suggestion since to protect it with an upturned wire hanging basket.

Judging by my experience with Little Willy these last 13-14 years, its apparent that you can negotiate with a dog, but its next to impossible to do the same with a cat.

mikey - very true, its the nature of the beasts.

On the very first day that I had the thugs (aged 18 months) Princess Merlin bit my in the right hand nine times. The doctor's comment of "that's just got to hurt" wasn't really needed. Being diabetic it became infected and took ages to heal.

Very few dogs would have acted this way

Re-read the thread with you sense of humour installed - we are in Chatterbank where sarcasm reigns.

I agree with you about dogs but cats aren't as independent as you would think. They are often abandoned by people who think that they will survive out in the world on their own. Many survive but have a miserable existence.

Wolf, I must admit in that programme MOST of the fault lies with the owner. Cats have ways of saying no, and if the folks are stupid enough to ignore that, well - they deserve all they get. Shame the cats get so stressed.
