Sertraline For Health Anxiety

I saw my GP as I am having terrible anxiety and he recommended an anti depressant called setraline (lustral) 50mg anyone been on them?

Not those... I had paroxetine which is also an SSRI. You'll need to give them a good chance to work xx

I have two friends who are on sertraline. One was put on Citalopram for her panic attacks but it didn`t do anything so the GP switched her over. The other never dealt with her father`s death and suffered from anxiety ever since. Both of them swear by it - it`s really helped them.

I'm on it for depression. I am on 200mg per day. I have been on it for a few years and dot seem to have side effect problems with it.

Give it a try, anxiety can be awful. I panic over my cats and their health and my leaking roof. When it's bad you wonder if life is worth living.

Let us know how you get on but give it at least two weeks.

I was on Sertraline for some time. I took 100mg daily but got down to 50mg. I am now much better & no longer need them BUT you must give them a fair chance to work. It was several weeks before I felt they were helping me. I had no side effects from them. Good luck x

I'd like to be prescribed an anti anxiety pill. However ive tried Prozac and Seroxat which are both ssri's , within 24hrs I was ready for the nearest hospital , I had such an adverse affect. I'm quite a strong willed person in spite of my anxiety and even I couldn't overcome the side effects . So is Lustral much the same does anyone know ? I'm always searching for something which will help take the edge off for me , I just want to have a flying start then I'd hopefully pick up myself if I had confidence .
