Hello!
At the end of last month, a lot of us were down, and only a couple on the naughty step.
I bought a new toy this month, a Polar M400 - which is an activity watch - and a matching set of scales. The scales sync with the watch, and all gets recorded alongside the activity tracking. It then guesses whether you've been eating too many cream cakes (spoiler: yes). It also lets you set a weight goal, and sets your activity requirements based on that.
Maybe it's a bit pointless, but I'm enjoying the novelty so far!
I think it might have some value in the way that you can sometimes forget the sweets or snacks you've snuck in, this might remind me of the activity that I haven't done.
Anyone got a salad to share?
I had a kind of "Thrifty Ceviche" - based on this recipie here - last night. http:// www.ski nnytast e.com/c anned-t una-cev iche/ - it's thrifty because it uses canned tuna. I dropped the avocado and olive oil, and added separate baby leaf salad.
Also been making a warm mixed garlicky greens and smoked salmon thing. This is white-peppered broccoli, green beans, and spinach, steamed in a wok by adding a little water over and over. Once softened, add finely sliced garlic and roughly chopped spring onion. Add a tiny bit of butter to make it richer if you want, (or when you're off the diet!). Tear smoked salmon on top and serve!
Your turn!

I suspect one benefits from a certain quantity of fats (we know some are called essential because tour bodies can't make them) but that most folk eat them in excess and get fat as a result.
It's my belief that it is finding the optimum amount that is key, and perhaps ensure one avoids hydrogenated/trans fats, and maybe minimises intake of saturated. But what do I know ?

Well done x; well avoided wend.
I had great hopes for this week, and then ... well I was force fed the strawberries and clotted cream that my visitor arrived with. And I'm sure I couldn't have been thinking straight with the Monday Sicilian calzone and the Tuesday mixed grill.
Up 0.2 lbs overall this week.

Lots of high level controversy, to the extent that opinion/guidance is (sneakily) put out without agreement and others resign in protest.
I think I'll continue the way I am having a portion of most food types, and trying to avoid too much saturated fat. Trouble is I'm the same weight as last Saturday this Saturday :-( and it's the long weekend started.

Unusually for me, a few times in the last week or so I've been getting asparagus for Tesco at the offer of 3 packs for £4, Put together and steamed long enough they make a meal, with salt & pepper & olive oil. If feeling a little naughty a sprinkling of grated cheese, but it's not necessary. Fairly few calories, and not a salad item in sight.
