Why Was This Woman Put On The Sex Offenders Register?

Serious question, I was under the impression (perhaps wrongly) the sex offenders register was to identify rapists and child molesters.

Whilst what she was doing in a public place was pretty disgusting, surely adding her to the sex offenders register is an overreaction. Or have I missed something?

She gets two months in jail and signed on to the sex offender's register. The "toyboy lover" got a conditional discharge and isn't on the sex offender register.

Seems a double standard.

Alicia Brown, from Waterloo, South London, pleaded guilty to a charge of outraging public decency and was handed a 30-month conditional discharge.
The grandmother, who brought a shopping trolley with her into the courtroom, was also made to sign on to the sex offenders' register.



William Knowles was also prosecuted for outraging public decency and was given a two-month custodial sentence on May 9.



As stated earlier, he will be placed on the register on release.
