Providing its near the event, of course.
Would Jo Cox herself have wanted the poll cancelled? I really don't think so. What has happened is terribly sad, but life and politics go on.
Hi Baths! Nothing technical, I write the word in an e-mail (or Word doc) because that has the spellchecker option to use the accent (which AB doesn't) and copy and paste.
// Out of respect should be a good enough reason for anything?//

what actually to cancel an event and not delay it ?

so... you would agree that a funeral should be cancelled out of respect to the dead person ?

so we are agreed that there are some things that are not cancelled out of respect to a dead person and we are saying that holding a referendum is one of them.
Not so MW. As an extreme example I'm not jumping off a cliff out of respect . I'm sure some appreciate your suggestion and that it is important to you, but I don't feel that anything goes. Just my view that it's not really appropriate.
Oh ta Prudie. Don't think I've got Word on here, but if I did I know how to use it, (or do I? Tis a long time since I did my CLAIT test) :p x x

I am talking about the poll on this page by the way, not the UK poll. I don't believe that one should be removed.
Hi Marshwarble,

It seems to be the considered opinion of the community that removing it would not particularly convey respect, nor would leaving it suggest disrespect.

I understand where your feeling comes from. But no, we're not going to remove the poll.
