Many thanks to you all for your feedback. I "impulse-bought" one that I saw in Pick last weekend (that's not actually the name of the store, it's what my stupid keyboard insists on changing it to ). Despite my initial requirements, I now have a battery-powered tile type of thing that I can stow away in a drawer. I can change it from metric to imperial if necessary. The best thing is that I can use any type of container for the ingredients without having to adjust for its weight, provided that it is placed on the scale before it is switched on - I hadn't
realised that this would be the case. All for just £5.99! Now just waiting to see how long the
battery lasts.
Pick is the one that isn't Aldi.
I'm intrigued to know what the reply that was removed said - kitchen scales not being that controversial as far as I know.
