I got a call earlier today asking if I could attend my appointment earlier as they had two Drs covering the clinic.
I went in over an hour earlier than scheduled, was seen straight away and got home before my planned appointment.
Such efficiency makes me want to weep ;-)

Rocky my local trust is going digital and will be rolling out email appointments soon.
It is quite baffling how it all works. I once received a letter inviting me to contact them to make an appointment, I prefer the we invite you to attend on 26 June if this is inconvenient please contact us.
I am still waiting for an appointment following my April one being cancelled due to strike action.

Similar here, the fracture clinic where I go sends texts so you know when an appointment is coming up, the physio is the same trust so I don't know why they don't do the same thing. Very frustrating. Fortunately I got an app for Tues morning so it only puts my recovery back a week, but, if I was a different kind of person I'd be waiting for an app that'll never come.
Phoned my docs on Tuesday at 10.00am and used automated appointment service. Press one if urgent.Press two if routine. I pressed two for routine and was advised the first available appointment was at 10 to 11 on the 21st so I accepted it by pressing another button. When I told Mr BD he asked me what the date was. Mad rush to surgery then. Don't know what an urgent appointment would have been.
It's nice to hear some good feedback for a change. Generally people are very quick to find fault, demand answers for (often completely imagined) errors or assert how they'd change things if they ran the NHS.
I had emergency surgery last week at the Hospital I work at and I can honestly say, without a trace of bias, that the care I received was exemplary.
The Anaesthetist put his hand on my cheek and stroked my face when I wept because I was scared of going under, whilst he administered Midazolem through my cannula without my knowing and I drifted off. The Surgeon came to see me at my bed the next morning to explain the intra-operative findings and said that whilst I won't require outpatient follow-up I could email her directly anytime if I had any questions.
Even the lady with the refreshment trolley kept up with my insatiable desire for tea.
Overall I think the NHS do a fantastic job.
