Does anyone have any examples of unusual laws that have never been repealed? I'll start off with one I believe to be true-- All taxis must, by law, carry a bale of hay (this is from the days when they had horse drawn carriages and as far as I know has never been repealed).

My dad was drunk in charge of a bicylce about 10 years ago and the police found him in a ditch covered in thorns - they wante dto charge him, but all they could find in their laws was to fine him 2 shillings!

Ha ha!

I've heard the one about the welshman and bow and arrow a lot - that's funny!

Oh and in certain areas of the UK at the minute it is a prosecutable offence to hang england flags from your car/house as it may offend ethnic minorities. That's a strange law.

And on a lighter note apparently all swans on the thames are property of the queen, so killing one is basically treason!
