I think that goes for most of the ancient places to be honest, Hurgharda is more for sun worshippers and divers rather than site seeing tourists.
Have a wonderful time, it's a beautiful country and the Egyptians are wonderful :o)
Just back from Hurghada and have to tell you there's nothing there but sea and sand plus lots of sun!.DON'T be tempted by the Giftun island boat trips they aren't worth the effort let alone the money. There are so many boats going there every day you have to climb over as many as a dozen other boats to get ashore ans with so many visitors the fish are long gone.Even the snorkling out at sea is a bit grim again so many boats 11 tied up together when we were there all we could smell in the water was deisel and no fish whatever. Most of the hotels in Hurghada are well out of town what there is of it and believe me that's not a lot
p.s. Forgot to say Egypt is a friendly place and we had a great time there but also forgot to warn you of the very high pressure selling you will encounter every time you step outside your hotel. They don't take NO for an answer! Also be ready to get your visa when you arrive at the airport it's worth asking your tour operator if they have a visa purchase arrangement on arrival ours did and it was brilliant. We were out of the airport and on our coach while we could still see people from our plane queueing for visas before going through passport control.Hope this halps but if you want more info email me
