SDRAM Compatability

I have an elderly PC (700MHz) and want to upgrade my SDRAM memory to 512MB, but not sure if I need PC100, PC133 or whether I can use 1 stick of 512MB or 2 x 256MB....please help!!!!!

If you go to http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html then you can download a small programme which is great as it will analyse your PC and tell you all the component you have installed and then provide you with a link to buy some more memory....even if you don't purchase from crucial.com (which the link will take you too) it will give you the specs for the memory you need.

If I were a betting man I would put my money on 2 x 256 MB PC133 memory. Most mainboards that support a 700 MHz processor (either 100 or 133 MHz FSB) will take PC133 memory but not all like the 512 MB modules.
