Life's difficult enough without additional hassle. And no, no one's going to be reminded that life feeds on life, or give a darn about that which is unchangeable and has to be accepted, simply because someone awkward who won't accept that reality is coming to the meal.

People who are choosy about what they eat don’t bother me at all. If I invite someone to my house, as their host I would always check what they do and don’t eat and cater accordingly. I have never met one who did “animal murdering” speeches, although I did once interview a lady who listed vegetarianism as a hobby on her CV....now that is weird....
Not really old geezer...I mean any host cooking someone a meal would in majority of cases like the person enough to simply not add meat to their plate. It's not really hassel cooking vegetarian meals either. We can eat so much things....veggie burgers, pasta, veg curries etc. In worst cases scenarios if cooking was too much hassel I'm sure most people wouldn't mind cooking for themselves rather than hear unwanted and ignorant opinions that are rather unwarranted. Point being that lectures arrive just simply telling some people you're a vegetarian. Everyone is free to live their life. I never lecture anyone on their eating choices yet I frequently get challenged on how I want to live. Simply annoying.
Depends what type of veggie they are. The reason I didn't eat meat for so long was because I didn't like it and nothing to do with moral grounds.
If, for instance, I was cooked a Sunday roast I'd eat everything bar the meat, including the gravy made with the meat juices.
I've just eaten a curry I've made for this evenings dinner but didn't put any of the meat on my plate.
