Avatar Disappeared

Hi all. I've been a member on this site for quite a long time - mainly for crosswords but a few random ones too. Several years ago I created an avatar but it has suddenly and mysteriously disappeared. Does anyone know how this could have happened please and if it is easily rectified?

Did you change your email address at that time?

Have you checked your Gravatar account?

That's the site which hosts our avatars.

Make sure that your Gravatar email address matches your AB address. Also , in Gravatar, make sure that it is the PRIMARY address. If not make it so by clicking on it and click Make Primary.

On AB go on My Profile, select Edit My Profile, and ensure there is a tick in the box to say your avatar is active

This has also happened to me since I changed my email address, but it will not let me alter to new one , says this cannot be changed.

Have done that, what a faff and a carry on , you think I was some dangerous individual, ha !

Thanks. I had to change my email address back the my old one and got my avatar back!
