Last night was interesting, but puzzling. How on earth can Tom justify going off on his travels, when his sister will standing trial in a few weeks ?

Can Jess be subpoenaed to appear?
I thought Jess had said an emphatic 'No'. Don't know about subpoena.
Am I alone in wondering if the new emphasis on the Grundy's and poaching is going to result in Will shooting either George or Joe? Joe is favourite to go - new producer coming in and they like to make their mark and also he's in his nineties, but George would give all sorts of opportunities for blame etc. etc..
I don't think a new editor has been appointed yet. They are still crediting Sean O'Connor in the cast list on the BBC website, but he is now working on EastEnders (credited there too) and one of the scriptwriters has confirmed that he is no longer working on TA.

The week of Helen's trial is still Sean's work, as he planned the whole of the 3+ years of Helen/Rob, and that week was written separately from the usual scriptwriting cycle.

With regard to Jess being summoned...yes, she can be if Anna applies for a witness summons. If a witness fails to attend court or give evidence, they can be punished for contempt of court. The punishment can take the form of a prison sentence of up to 3 months duration and/or a fine of up to £2500.

Can't see the point of summoning Jess, if she is not willing to go voluntarily.

She won't be much help to Helen then.
If she is summoned, she risks perjuring herself if she lies when answering questions. However, as Rumpole once said, a barrister should never ask a witness a question to which he doesn't already know the answer.
I wonder if her friend's predicament will shake Helen out of her complacent attitude to her trial and make her more willing to open up to Anna? Something has to give, she's leaving it a bit late!
I agree zebo. l do hope so.

Way to go Ian ! ( you should have hit him ! )
Is anybody else getting so sick of Helen not wanting to fight her corner that she deserves to lose. I've lost all care for her, she needs a good wake-up slap.
