Hans...there is a connection between people like Vaz and religion.

As AOG has demonstrated, Vaz and others, like Sadiq Khan are deemed by our less discerning ABers to have attained their position because of there ethnicity.

The stupid point scoring on this thread is ridiculous and pathetic in equal measure.

Vaz, who has always been a bit 'iffy', has been caught paying male prostitutes for sex. For a 'family man' (which he clearly is not) who has always taken a pious, superior, attitude to everything he has ever preached about, I would find this hilarious were it not for his poor wife and kids.

I see he has complained that he has been caught up in a "sting" as though he is the victim. Talk about entirely missing the point. I sincerely hope this is the end of his career. Anybody who tries to defend or justify his actions is, quite simply, wrong.

If these accusations are proved to be correct, he deserves everything coming to him.

It's interesting that despite the various misdemeanours over the years including a four week suspension and apology to the House,he has retained considerable support in his constituency and ,as stated ,even increased his majority (notwithstanding the profile of voters).

Vaz may complain that he has been the victim of a 'sting' but there is always a risk that there are 'rogue' journalists waiting to pounce and make the most of a situation.

It would be unfair to not acknowledge much of the good work he has done but ultimately,this matter may be his final undoing.

He isn't the first and wont be the last but how will such events do anything to encourage particularly our young and first time voters?

The MP's expenses affair,of which Vaz was partly to blame,was undoubtedly a scandal and it remains to be seen what Vaz's lawyer makes of it all.

I so agree with Desk Diary and especially about his pious superior attitude. Could never stand the man, slippery as they come and not someone I would trust if my life depended on it.

unless there was genuinely bad journalistic behaviour (like phone hacking, which could never happen...) hsi lawyer isn't going to have much to go on. He might claim a non-cabinet minister like Vaz isn't important enough to expose; but as a committee he's pretty significant.
