I quit smoking after 20 years last December and went onto vaping. I feel much healthier physically from not smoking and I always hated the smell too so win win.

BUT I only vape when I feel the urge to have a nicotine fix and I get some very strange side effects including a feeling of anxiety and slight confusion. Does anyone else have strange effects from Vaping?

Tora as usual u r a legend!
don't smoke ..never have but I appreciate how difficult it must be to kick the habit after so many years..you are bound to have a few strange sensations whilst withdrawing from nicotine via cigs....can't offer any advice as I am in no way qualified to do so..but applaud your efforts and wish you the very best as you strive to overcome this habit...

Thank you Murraymints, very nice of you to say.
agree with minty, very good luck, and just ignore the doubters.
try 50mg chrissa
I remember an episode of Columbo when someone was murdered by the murderer putting highly concentrated nicotine liquid into the victim's cigarette. He was a chain smoker, as well. He died of a heart attack, I think. The murderr was caught, of course.

:))
OH has gone almost three weeks without a cigarette. He did use nicotine chewing gum at first but the side effects were too much. He has relied on a packet of mints.
Yesterday we met up with his son and he passed over nearly a years supply of hand rolling tobacco, umpteen lighter, filters, papers, cigarette cases etc.
He has been wonderful about giving up. He made it look easy but he has smoked for about 63 years.
I am so proud of him.
He reckons it's because he had to give up and not because he thought he should that made it easier.
He's done amazingly well Caran, good for him. I've known people in similar situations who have said 'Well, it's got me why bother now', so congrats to your Mister.
Thank you Mamya.
Keep vaping, ignore the negative comments, not everyone is like Rambo

Hi PeelerPal,

I think your question mainly relates to whether or not vaping is the cause of your anxiety and confusion, and the answer wouldn’t necessarily be yes or no. Even though vaping is WAY better than smoking harmful tobacco, it’s true that the physical addiction is still there.

Vaping has helped a lot of people quit smoking harmful tobacco. Although vape pens and other portable vapes are not linked to any major health concerns or any deaths, the data is still quite limited on this, but researchers have found that smokers saw their overall health improve when switching to vaping.

Your anxiety is most likely due to the fact that you are still addicted to the habit itself, which is normal for anyone addicted to anything. It takes time to overcome addiction and to realize how much of a hold it has on your life. Your getting away from nicotine is a huge step in the right direction, now try finding healthier habits to replace the unhealthy ones to help you with the anxiety and the urge to smoke something. Take it a day at a time. It won’t go away overnight!
