Mcfluff we are all entitled to our own opinions.... as you have voiced yours too, whether we agree with them is another matter. Some people like things for a reason and some dislike them for their reason... part of life. If people with tattoos do it just for themselves, why do they insist on displaying them to all and sundry?

I put a thread on here some years ago (under a different user name) about threatening to kick out my son if he had a tattoo for his 21st birthday. I took some right flak from some of the self - righteous mob. However, a couple of years later he thanked me for my stance and he's still a tattoo free zone :-)

I will have commented on your thread, but I don't believe that makes me part of the 'self-righteous mob'.
I have three grown-up children, and if any of them had decided to have a tattoo, I would have been worried, only that they went to a registered and regulated tattooist, and that they didn't regret it later.
But if they did - that is their decision. I would not dream of being such a fascist as to dictate anyone's body adornment as a condition of living in my house, and certainly not my children.
Part of being an adult is making decisions you have to live with, part of being a parent is teaching your children that concept.
It is not then for you to sanction them because you disapprove of how they treat their bodies - they are adults and have a right to behave, and be treated as such, and that includes respect and minding your own business!

I hate tatoos and still feel very sad about Stalking Cat who appears to have committed suicide; possible because he could Not go back on what he had done to his face.

@quidproquo at your posting 14:07 ....if you don't like my trousers or any other part of my dress, then YES insist I don't display them for all to see....BUT ONLY if I am in your employ!!! The gent concerned was in employment not in a social situation which is an entirely different thing and his choice to display or not. If I wasn't in your employ then maybe I would tell you to get stuffed...or whatever choice of phrase might be handy at the time.

AH. Thanks for your reply.
Well, it's not every day I get to be called a fascist on AB, especially in a judgmental, sanctimonious and know it all manner.
I'll be coming to you for walking on water lessons....
