Please can anyone suggest any climbing plants with bee-friendly flowers that could grow up a 6' fence in partial sun? Would prefer a hardy perennial, but I'm struggling to find anything to fit the bill!

I think another good one for bees, is cotoneaster which can easily be trained on a fence. You get the added bonus of also attracting birds, with the berries in the Autumn and Winter.

No expert but I get quite a few bees interested in my passion flower / fruit which grows up my trellis.

I agree, chipchopper, Cotoneaster by far the best and it grows anywhere. Bees galore when in flower and blackbirds love the berries.

I hadn't considered cotoneaster for that position, as I hadn't realised it could grow up fences. I must investigate which varieties can do that. The cotoneaster variety I have elsewhere in the garden grows as a low shrub with lots of sticky-out bits (non-technical term).
Hi CluckyChick,
C. horizontalis is the one that springs to mind, its actually widely crown by be keepers for its abundance of nectar.
It can betrained to grow along wires, between fence posts or just let it 'romp away' (non technical jargon).
As long as the area is reasonably sunny it should do well.
