Graham Norton Takes Over Children In Need.

It's been announced that Graham Norton will host this year's Children In Need from the BBC.

I wonder if he will take a salary - the only person involved in the show to do so - and then, when found out, say he didn't even know he was being paid - like his predecessor Saint Terry Wogan did?

I dislike Terry Wogan because he lied about having psoriasis. It's nothing to be ashamed of but it felt like he was shaming fellow sufferers.

Graham Norton can only enhance the dire Children in Need programme.

I also couldn't bear TW, for the reasons Andy-Hughes has stated. He was on Steve Wright's show once, and Steve asked Terry why he was so self-deprecating. He replied by saying "well, I can't go around saying how great I am, can I?". I think it was meant to sound ironic, but I think he meant it.

Is Bruce Forsyth still working? I saw him at Wimbledon once. He entered the Royal Box as if it were his show.

I don't see what familiarity with world religions has to do with this - but rather than continually behaving like the cowardly child who runs up, punches his perceived adversary in the back, and runs away again, have the courage to say what you have to say to me directly.

Graham Norton is one of those characters who you either really like or don't. I'm sure he will do a decent job of co-hosting CIN.

Going back to Wogan, I heard him numerous times on his Sunday show and I really got the feeling that his reactions to his guests performing was rather false. I got the same impression from his stand-in, Richard Madeley.

Bob Harris on the other hand always gives me the impression that he is genuinely privileged to have guests performing on his show. The style of language, expression and genuine delight of musicians performing in the studio are hallmarks of a person who truly enjoys the company of invited guests. Harris has these qualities in spades.

I did not feel that Wogan had a particular affinity with his guests and it very much felt that with younger guests they were made to believe that they should be honoured to be in his company!

Ummmm, I'm going back well over twenty years ago when I used to see him at Guys Hospital. He was asked to spearhead a campaign and refused as he didn't want to out himself and went as far as refusing to be associated with psoriasis.

I don't mind him not wanting to go public with a private health matter but his absolute denial was insulting.
