What Is This Silly Woman Up To?
Lilly Allen accuses black cab driver of refusing to take her fare, telling her to find an immigrant to drive you, you stupid tart.
It was pointed out that this was supposed to have happened 15 minutes after Uber had lost the court case. Allen has previously shared Uber promos with her twitter followers.
Steve McNamara, of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association refutes the claim saying he has no doubt it did not happen.
Curiouser and Curiouser.

Mamy...I am Not seeking to make an issue of matters, but it does depend upon whether you agree that Articulate means :-
1. Composed of distinct, meaningful syllables or words: articulate speech.
2. Expressing oneself easily in clear and effective language: an articulate speaker.
3. Characterized by the use of clear, expressive language: an articulate essay.
4. Having the power of speech.
Surely if I were to say that something was Carap, it would be understood by ABers and accepted as Articulate language.

Hans, it doesn't really matter whether we agree or not - I simply prefer to use language that could be read and understood by all.
People however will continue to wriggle round the filter best they can for reasons only they know.
eg..
if I don't like Lily's father as someone earlier obviously doesn't, I may say - 'I can't stand Keith Allen'.
Re whether the cabbie said those words - I have no clue but if he did say them in front of children - shame on him, as I said in my first response.

special rules about cabs being on hire and then refusing a fare
( but I cant remember what they are - on the lines of an 'Inn' not being able to refuse a traveller a bed )
I have no doubt that - go and find an immigrant to drive you you stupid tart is actionable at law
I am amazed she didnt stay and give him hell
but presumably he drove orf.

Perhaps I am digressing from the original posting. However, I am now wondering if Black Cabs will become a thing of the past.
It was the case that London Cabbies had to 'have the Knowledge' and fully know their way around all streets in London. It is now my assumption that it only needs a vehicle to be equipped with 'Sat Nav' to travel very easily around the city. Perhaps this is the position with Uber.
Incidentally, Uber is an American worldwide online transportation network company which I fail to appreciate is allowed by the EU to operate in the UK.
