eBay query

I sold an item on eBay, but hadn't entered the postage. I emailed the buyer with the costs, twice, but they ignored my emails. Thing is, they entered their own price, which was lower than I was going to charge and paid me via Paypal. I hadn't realised it was possible to add you own postage?

Email them and ask for the extra - you haven't agreed a price with them for postage so you're as entitled to come up with one as they are. As long as yours is reasonable I don't see a problem.

Check your auction again just in case though, I think sometimes ebay copies postage from your last auction to a new one when you're selling. Maybe there was a price quoted on the auction?

Thanks for your reply, Stevie. They haven't answered my email, so I'm just going to accept their price as it was fairly reasonable I guess. I checked the auction again and I definitely hadn't quoted postage.

Also, the postage from my last auction was different, so I don't think eBay copied it. I don't understand how they were able to do this.

They can enter a value for postage if you haven't preset it.

I'd advice you do a refund (free for both of you) and create and send an invoice with the correct postage included.

entering the postage you're going to charge is a step you have to go through when setting up an item to sell. you must have skipped it! the default setting looks like royal amil 1st class....
