Jim, //"It shouldn't be the accepted remit of the politically correct to impose their will upon others."
I agree -- imposing an opinion or will, no matter how well-intentioned, is wrong. //
Jim, You say you agree with me but I’m not so sure you do. Nevertheless, that’s what’s happening – and it’s being endorsed by the liberal left wholesale – and none of us is supposed to object. Christians are dragged through the courts because they don’t want to open their homes to gay people, or because they don’t want to put slogans that contradict their beliefs on cakes, but why should one man’s right to live his own lifestyle or follow his own beliefs override anyone else’s right to do the same? Europe is being flooded with migrants and, despite the fact that we haven’t a clue who they are, we are all supposed to welcome them with open arms as well as overlook their transgressions; companies and other organisations are obliged to make special concessions for people who follow Islam; Muslims who, en masse, block roads by deciding to pray in the street are not charged with obstruction and moved on – and God help anyone who says they should be. They’re deemed bigoted, racist, xenophobic, and Islamophobic – and in the case of Louis Smith, punished for making a joke that you say was in ‘poor judgement’. That just about sums it up. ‘Poor judgement’ means he shouldn’t have joked. That is the rot that has set in – and that is what people are now kicking against.
