Anybody tell me how to remove a little boo boo from Maxie's bottom/fur. I have washed him with hot water and soap a few times but it's only a little but I can't seem to remove it. I feel that if I meddle more he will become upset. Thanks.

If it is stuck to his little hairy bottom just snip it off.

Yes if it's only small, carefully snip it - if not try a little veg oil and comb it out.

Thanks Wolfie LOL - thought that - but hairy bottom just needs to be a little longer "yuck) before scissors could go near it. I was worried it was a "lump". Maybe I'll give him another bath on Saturday and have a go.

Had a Shetland Sheepdog years ago....sometimes had same problem that no matter how many times washed him it wouldnt come off....so got a pair of scissors and very carefully trimmed area....saves the dog upset and the hair soon grows back.

thanks mamy - I'd like to try that rather than tousling him - just need something to "slide it out". It's an awful thing to talk about it but that's ma wee dog.

Try it, massage the oil into the hard poo and then use a comb - it should slide off.

no, it is a boo boo - I have tried washing it twice but he jiggles about so much I give up

Mamy you're saying use a comb - I really don't have one so I would maybe have done unintentionally pulled him and he could get upset.

I could laugh at him. When you interfere/ie wash him bath him shower him - he starts to grrrr grrrrr ggrrrr - here what are you doing - such in a gentle way - bless him - he thinks I am out to hurt him whatever.

I was looking after a dog last year, and had to wipe her bum after a poo. She had short hair though, so maybe not so easy for Maxie. Perhaps, carry a baby wipe on walks and give him a quick going over after each time.

No problems with the dog, but with the cat I've had to cut no end of 'stuff' off her backside with scissors. So far I've cut furballs, poo, twigs, rose stems, slugs (I'm not kidding!) and a couple of worms (sadly, again, im not kidding)

I cannot begin to tell you how gross it is cutting slugs and worms out of the fur round a cats bum is Pasta!

You are not being crude, Jennyjoan, We'e all been there and done that.

Just use the scissors and snip off the offending bit of poo. Be careful though.
