It is a device which an advertising company lets you purchase for a small fortune. It listens to everything you say, everything you ask, and then directs advertising your way.
It practice this works well. You discuss with your daughter what you are planning on buying your husband for christmas. Next thing you know, you are sat watching telly on the settee with hubby, and Amazon sends you an email with recommendations on the surprise gift. Genius.

@Gromit....I agree with what you have said. Furthermore, I see it as bit like using Google Chrome: which will invade an individual's privacy to target one with adverts. A very dangerous item to have switched on in the house.
